S.E.S.P.A Modified Rules
General
- Proper Male to Female ratio: 7/3, 8/4, 9/5 etc.
- If you’re short a girl it’s an auto out unless opponent agrees to allow
- Before starting the game discuss any probable issues with team captain.
- I.e.Are there any objects in the field that will result in a ground rule double or home run? Example, tree in outfield, hits it no bounce = HR, bounces then
hits = double.
- Identify foul line and dead zones.
Forfeit/No Show/Last Minute Cancellation
○ Forfeited Game: 7-0
○ Also applies to teams who do not submit scores on Teamlinkt App by noon the next day.
Base Set up and Specs
- Home Plate: Rectangle 40″ x 22″
- ****If you have a triangle cut out then you use home plate as a strike as well.
- Should look like perfect rectangle when properly placed.
- Home to first/third, 65 feet.
- Home to second is 91 feet 11 inches

Batting
- Batting Order: 10 Players- 7 guys /3 girls, 8/4, 9/5, etc (must add a girl every time you add a guy past the 7/3 roster )
- Batting order can NOT have more than 3 male players in a row. General batting order follows a 2 male, one female type format.
- SPN says no bunting ****Girls are able to bunt.
- SPN says male batter walked in any form with female behind he goes to 2nd, but female must hit. ******SESPA has a 4 straight ball rule, with female batter on deck only. Male goes to 2nd, and female has an option to hit or take first o
- occupied with less than two out. NOTE: If a fairly batted ball is to be declared an infield fly, umpire shall call out “infield fly, batter is out.”no home run limit during regular season play
- Foul balls on counts with 2 strikes already are called out
- If Fence is in play**** 5 Home Runs with a +/- 1 after that. Home Run becomes strike once limit has been hit.
- “Fair Territory”-is that part of the playing area within and including the first and third base foul lines from the home plate / strike mat to the bottom of the extreme playing area fence and then extending perpendicularly upwards. (The home plate / strike mat is in fair territory). Therefore, if a ball is hit and hits the home plate but travels forward/remains in fair territory. This is considered a FAIR ball.
Base Running
- Commitment Line is 20 feet from the top corner of home plate (corner closest to third base).
- Runner must not make contact with a hit ball, or will be called out.
- Runners must tag safe portion of bag at 1st base
- Courtesy Runners- ******SESPA allows pinch runners from both the batting box (2nd post in on backstop)
Fielding
- There must be one female in the outfield during a game. Other female players may be placed wherever else.
- Fouls Tip: SPN says foul tip at any height caught is an out. *****SESPA has a minimum 6 foot rule for an out
- Tagging at 1st and Home: SPN says you can tag at 1st and Home. *****SESPA has a no tagging rule at either 1st base or Home.
- Sec. 48 “Infield Fly”-is a fairly batted fly ball (not a line drive) which can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort when first and second, or when first, second and third bases are● Pitching
- Minimum of 6 feet.
- Maximum of 15 feet in B, C and D Division.
- No Height Max in A ● Bats-
